Fulham Transfer Rumors: Cottagers In For Roma Left Back John Arne Riise?

With one year left on John Arne Riise's contract, AS Roma are reportedly looking to sell their left back this summer, rather than re-signing him to a new contract or letting him walk away on a free transfer next summer. While Roma and Riise had a bit of an up and down season, he's still been a very solid player for them, and teams are well aware of his athleticism and his unbelievable left foot. The most recent team to be linked to Riise's services is Fulham, as Martin Jol looks to add to his side.

After losing Paul Konchesky to Liverpool and never really replacing him, Riise is a player that Fulham could seriously use. Their only true left back is Carlos Salcido, and he is both not left footed and regularly linked to moves back to the Mexican Primera. An athletic left back with a mean left foot could be a good addition for the Cottagers, especially if the price is right.
