Talk about a response to Manchester City slaughtering Tottenham Hotspur earlier today - United are 3-0 up against Arsenal before halftime here at Old Trafford. Yes, Arsenal have been shocking, but United have been in wonderful form and are cutting through the visiting defence with ease. This time they take advantage of young right back Carl Jenkinson, who can't deal with Ashley Young making a run and is forced to drag the England man to ground near the edge of the penalty area.

While Howard Webb reached for his cards - Jenkinson got a booking for his troubles - Wayne Rooney was lining up his shot, and when the whistle blew the star striker produced an absolute peach, bending the free kick over the wall and into the top corner. Wojciech Szczesny reacted well and did manage to get a touch on the ball, but there was no way he was ever keeping that out. 3-0 United, and this is all just far too easy.
