This doesn't look good for Wigan Athletic's Colombian striker Hugo Rodallega, who had just seen his side go behind to a late header by Everton new boy Apostolos Vellios to make it 2-1 to the home side. The 26-year-old was trying to make something happen on the Wigan left by combining with on-loan left back Patrick van Aanholt only to let the ball run across his body while receiving a pass and then being blindsided by Toffees striker Denis Stracqualursi.

It was a legal challenge, but Stracqualursi's hit looks like it's been bad news for Rodallega's hamstring, and the forward was down for a very long time - he's not timewasting with his team desperately needing a goal to claim a point. Eventually the medical team come out with a brace and a stretcher, carting the visibly pained striker off the pitch. Although Franco di Santo has been the one scoring goals for Wigan, the quality of that front line lies largely with Rodallega, and losing him for any length of time would be a major issue for Roberto Martinez's crew.
