Bolton Wanderers Vs. Norwich City, 2011 Premier League: Canaries Earn First Win, Beat Bolton 2-1

A bizarre match at the Reebok Stadium saw Norwich City earn their first Premier League win of the season and Bolton Wanderers consigned to their second straight home defeat. A loss against Manchester United, even a bad one, is probably to be expected, but it looked as though the Trotters were still hung over from their 5-0 mauling at the hands of Sir Alex Ferguson's merry men last weekend, allowing the Canaries to blow them off the pitch in the first half.

In the span of ten minutes leading up to half time, Norwich scored twice and Bolton forward Ivan Klasnic was shown a straight red card for a headbut on Marc Tierney, who helped referee Howard Webb make his decision by having some sort of medical condition where he legs strat working after being lightly tapped on the forehead. It was a brutal period for Bolton, who had managed to completely lose control of the football match, and only a lot of hard work in the second half could even begin to undo some of the damage.

The Trotters were handed a lifeline when Leon Barnett wiped out David Ngog in the penalty area, making that five penalties in five matches conceded by Norwich, and despite Decland Rudd being quite good at keeping those out, he couldn't stop Martin Petrov's effort from finding the back of the net and reducing the deficit to 2-1. From then on, though, it was Norwich who looked more likely to score. Ultimately, the visitors wouldn't need to, happy to cruise to a 2-1 victory to take them up to 11th in the table.
