With seven points from four games and a match at home against newly promoted Queens Park Rangers, Wolverhampton Wanderers looked to be in great shape to go - at least temporarily - into fourth place in the league table. That's not quite how it worked out at Molineux, where the match almost wasn't played after a major power outage knocked out electricity to the stadium. Wolves will be wishing it hadn't gotten underway after all, because they were destroyed by a team than shouldn't have been able to cut through them so easily.
Wolverhampton Wanderers Vs. Queens Park Rangers, 2011 Premier League: Early QPR Goal Burst Sends Wolves Tumbling
QPR captain Joey Barton got things going in the eighth minute after his weak shot from a Shaun Wright-Phillips cross found the back of the net anyway, and just two minutes later Alejandro Faurlin doubled the Londoners' tally with a sweet finish that left Wayne Hennessey completely helpless. The visitors would add to their tally at the end of the match, when DJ Campell netted from very close range to put then 3-0 up. It was a scoreline both teams deserved.
