It hasn't been the prettiest half of football, but at least AC Milan can say they've been effective enough. They lead 1-0 after 45 minutes thanks to an early goal by Clarence Seedorf, but they've been fortunate that Cesena have not converted on any of their close chances. Though they haven't created a lot, Cesena look fairly dangerous on the counter and on set pieces, forcing Christian Abbiati into two saves and narrowly missing on another excellent shot. They haven't been great in the run of play, but they're unlucky not to have a goal.
AC Milan Vs. Cesena Live, 2011 Serie A: Halftime, Rossoneri Lead 1-0
Seedorf’s goal, an absolutely stunning chip over the keeper, came on a corner kick, with Urby Emmanuelson providing the assist. Since scoring that goal in the 5th minute, Milan have been content to keep possession and try to defend their league. While it is a tad bit negative, it’s also understandable. Milan are a decimated club with their current injuries, and the players that they do have healthy keep the ball and defend much better than they create and score.
