Thanks to continental competitions, lucrative friendlies, weather and all other kinds of things that can cause games to be put off, the Los Angeles Galaxy and Sporting Kansas City have a game that they need to play. Most MLS teams are currently off for the international break, but the league felt it was necessary to provide you with a bit of Labor Day fun. The Galaxy do not have Landon Donovan in the starting lineup after he played for the USMNT on Friday, while the Kansas City lineup is yet another new combination in their attempt to get their 4-3-3 right.
Sporting Kansas City Vs. LA Galaxy: Lineups
Sporting Kansas City lineup (4-3-3): Nielsen; Sinovic, Besler, Cesar, Collin; Zusi, Espinoza, Jeferson; Bravo, Sapong, Myers
LA Galaxy lineup (4-4-2): Saunders; Dunivant, Gonzalez, DeLaGarza, Hejduk; Franklin, Juninho, Beckham, Magee; Cristman, Barrett
Sporting KC is in the hilaribad Eastern Conference, meaning that they're currently in a good position to make the playoffs on just 36 points. However, they could put themselves in serious trouble if they managed to drop three points at home on Monday night. Meanwhile, LA are trying to hold off FC Dallas and Seattle Sounders in their campaign to take home the Supporters Shield once again.
The game kicks off at 6:00 pm ET, 5:00 pm local time from Livestrong Sporting Park in Kansas City. You can catch the game on Fox Soccer Channel in the USA and GolTV in Canada. We’ll have coverage of the game right here in this StoryStream.
