Belgium Vs. USA, Friendly: Broadcast Moved To ESPN2 From ESPN

If you're wondering why your channel guide says the United States' friendly against Belgium is supposed to be on ESPN, but all you're getting is NASCAR, you're not alone. A rain delay of the AdvoCare 500 has forced the Sprint Cup race to run long, and with rain wiping out the rest of today's U.S. Open action, ESPN decided to move the Belgium-U.S. match to ESPN2. The soccer match is currently playing live on ESPN2 and is being shown there in its entirety.

This has caused much consternation among some who had already set their DVRs to record the broadcast on ESPN. Veteran soccer scribe Grant Wahl even tweeted this out:

ESPN needs to realize that working fans set their DVRs for ESPN, not ESPN2. Hope some of you can set your DVRs remotely.less than a minute ago via web Favorite Retweet Reply

To be fair to ESPN, though, this seems to be a preferable solution to simply delaying the broadcast of the USMNT match they way they have been forced to do for previous games. The sports channel has been consistent in its desire not to cut away from games while they are in action.
