CONCACAF World Cup 2014 Qualifying: Canada Takes Care Of Puerto Rico

At this early stage in CONCACAF World Cup 2014 Qualifying, it’s all about survival. Through two matches of the second round, Canada is doing just that. In fact, after their 3-0 road win over Puerto Rico, you might even say they are doing better than that.

Canada got their first lead when Iain Hume scored about four minutes before halftime. From there, the Canadians just kinda held on until Simeon Jackson and Toisant Ricketts scored toward the end of the second half.

The Canadians now find themselves atop Group D, and looking like a solid bet to advance to the third round. The winner of each of these six groups will join the six other teams that earned automatic qualification into Round 3, including the United States, Mexico and Honduras.
