David Beckham will return to the LA Galaxy for the 2012 season and his re-signing will be formally announced during a Thursday press-conference, according to a report on Soccer By Ives. Previous reports have suggested that Beckham's deal would allow him to leave the team during the London Olympics during the summer and would also allow for him to return to the Galaxy for as long as he wants to continue playing. More recent reports have suggested that the deal is for two years and worth about $7.5 million a year.
David Beckham Reportedly Re-Signs With LA Galaxy
Beckham’s return seemed to be in serious doubt as recently as a few weeks ago when numerous French publications reported that he has signed with Paris Saint-Germain. He was reportedly offered about $18 million to move to France.
The news couldn't come at a better time for the Galaxy. This has been a relatively rough offseason for them, as Juninho has already left and Omar Gonzalez tore his ACL during a loan stint with Nurnberg.
