Fabrice Muamba, the Bolton Wanderers midfielder who collapsed during his team's FA Cup match against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, remains in critical care under intensive care in London on Sunday, according to a report by the Associated Press. A statement from Bolton said that after Muamba, 23, suffered what appears to have been a major heart attack during the match, his heart only began working again Saturday night in the hospital.

Medics had attempted resuscitation on the pitch and en route to the hospital. They finally got results at the London Chest Hospital, where Muamba remains. The FA Cup match between Bolton and Tottenham was abandoned as a veil of shock and fear came over White Hart Lane. Spurs fans also had the good spirit to chant Muamba's name intermittently after he was rushed away.
The Associated Press also reports that Bolton's Tuesday Premier League match against Aston Villa is under threat.
