Manchester City Vs. Chelsea, 2012 Premier League: Scoreless At Halftime With Citizens Looking Stronger

Manchester City have created plenty of chances at Eastlands this afternoon, but their finishing has been extremely poor. They should probably have a couple of goals, but it's 0-0 at halftime of their match against Chelsea, and Roberto Di Matteo will be relieved that he was given an opportunity to make adjustments before his team conceded.

The score is the only thing that's going well for Chelsea, however. In addition to the fact that they're being outplayed, Branislav Ivanovic picked up a leg injury in the first half. He was substituted out for Jose Bosingwa in the 20th minute.

City's best chance came in the 9th minute when Samir Nasri got onto the end of a long ball by Yaya Toure and chipped over a baffled Petr Cech. His shot hit the bar, and Cech, still looking clueless, failed to claim the ball after it hit the bar. It deflected away, and City couldn't do anything with their second chance.

They had another excellent chance to score in the 30th minute when Frank Lampard played a hilariously bad backpass that ended up looking like an Andrea Pirlo-esque through ball to the wrong team. Mario Balotelli ran onto it and looked certain to score, but somehow hit a poor shot wide of Cech's goal.

City should be ahead, and they might be made to pay for their missed chances. It wouldn’t be shocking to see changes in formation and/or personnel for Chelsea at halftime.
