FC Dallas Vs. Philadelphia Union, 2012 MLS: A Brutal Match Ends In A Draw

If you want more physicality in soccer, check out a replay of FC Dallas vs. Philadelphia Union. The two sides playing an incredibly brutal 90 minutes, knocking each other around and bloodying each other until the referee mercifully blew the whistle. There were still two goals in the match, too, as each team scored in a 1-1 draw.

Blas Perez opened the scoring with a fine diving header in the seventh minute. George John got on the end of a corner kick and nodded it down to the far post where Perez got free and came flying in to put Dallas in front.

That lead would last almost until the hour mark when Carlos Rodriguez made a mess of an attempted clearance. Rodriguez tried to head away a long ball, but instead played a perfect diagonal ball for Gabriel Gomez, who was in behind the Dallas defense. Gomez finished neatly and Philadelphia had equalized.

When the teams weren't busy trading goals, they were busy beating each other. Perez got hurt in a collision on his goal, Carlos Valdes was badly bloodied and Chase Harrison was hit by Dallas, his own teammates and the post. It was brutal, and a pretty fair draw.
