Wigan Athletic confirmed via their official website that, after four unsuccessful bids, Chelsea finally met Wigan’s valuation of the player with their fifth bid. Wigan paid £2.5m for Moses and will almost certainly make a healthy profit on their investment, though they haven’t left themselves much time to find a replacement. Wigan have pulled off multiple narrow escapes from the drop zone since they came up to the Premier League in 2005, but might find it difficult to pull off the feat again without an infusion of talent.
