Newcastle United vs. Chelsea: Preview and TV schedule

Chelsea will go provisionally top of the Premier League table with a win over Newcastle in Saturday’s early kickoff.

Chelsea will look to capitalise on Newcastle United's midweek toils against Manchester City in their trip to St James' Park on Saturday morning. The Magpies played 120 minutes of football before coming up short in the Capital One Cup on Wednesday, having fielded an almost full-strength team. In contrast, José Mourinho's side rotated heavily in their win over Arsenal, and will have considerably fresher legs.

Chelsea can go top of the table with a victory, with current table-toppers Arsenal not meeting Liverpool until Saturday evening. The Blues are on a six-game winning streak in all competitions, and its hard to see Newcastle -- who are currently down in 11th place -- having enough to stop them.

The hosts will once again be without Fabricio Coloccini, Ryan Taylor and Jonás Gutiérrez, while Steven Taylor's hamstring injury could sideline him once more. Massadio Haïdara and Paul Dummett picked up injuries in midweek, and are doubtful. Chelsea only have the long-term injured Marco van Ginkel unavailable.
