Manchester City vs. Norwich City: Preview and TV schedule

Manchester City will look to bounce back from defeat to Chelsea last weekend with a win against Norwich.

Manchester City boss Manuel Pellegrini would've been thankful he heavily rotated his team for the Capital One Cup game over Newcastle United in midweek, as it took until after extra time before they finally secured victory. They should, therefore, be positively bursting with energy for their game at home to Norwich City on Saturday, with the hosts strong favourites for the win.

City will be hoping to bounce back from their 2-1 defeat to Chelsea last weekend, which left them six points adrift of the top of the table. With Norwich currently in the relegation zone, that shouldn't be a problem. Despite an impressive summer transfer campaign, Chris Hughton's side have only won twice in the Premier League so far this season.

For this match, they'll be without a few regular faces in Alexander Tettey, Elliott Bennett and Robert Snodgrass. For City, Stevan Jovetić is out with a calf problem sustained in midweek, while captain Vincent Kompany's absence could continue with his thigh injury -- though with the Canaries being the joint-lowest scorers in the division, that's a bit less of a concern.

Manchester City injuries and suspensions

Out: Stevan Jovetić (calf). In doubt: Vincent Kompany (thigh).

Norwich City injuries and suspensions

Out: Alexander Tettey (ankle), Elliott Bennett (knee), Robert Snodgrass (head). In doubt: None.

Projected lineups

Manchester City: Joe Hart; Gael Clichy, Martín Demichelis, Matija Nastasić, Pablo Zabaleta; David Silva, Fernandinho, Yaya Touré, Samir Nasri; Álvaro Negredo, Sergio Agüero.

Norwich City: John Ruddy; Martin Olsson, Sébastien Bassong, Michael Turner, Russell Martin; Leroy Fer, Jonny Howson; Anthony Pilkington, Johan Elmander Nathan Redmond; Ricky van Wolfswinkel.

Match Date/Time: Saturday, 3 p.m. local, 11 a.m. ET

Venue: Etihad Stadium, Manchester, England
