Wigan Athletic vs. Tottenham Hotspur: Preview and TV schedule

With Wigan fighting for their Premier League lives and Tottenham still in contention for a Champions League place, this game is one of the most significant of the weekend.

Wigan are currently cut three points adrift at the bottom, albeit with a game in hand on the side above them, Aston Villa. Win that game, and they'd move level on points with the Villains. However, with that match not coming up for a few weeks, they just need to keep the pressure on for the time being.

They host the unpredictable Tottenham Hotspur this weekend, who are fresh from an excellent victory against Manchester City at White Hart Lane. Currently occupying the fifth-place Europa League spot, they're only a point behind Chelsea and the Champions League. This game offers Spurs a great chance to bolster their top-four hopes.

Wigan will be without Antolín Alcaraz who limped out of last weekend's defeat to Aston Villa, while his fellow centre-back Iván Ramis and midfielder Ben Watson are set to miss the rest of the season through injury. With an FA Cup final on the horizon, they can't afford many more injuries.

As for Spurs, they've had some good news, in that Aaron Lennon is available after three games out. However, William Gallas, Younes Kaboul and Sandro remain unavailable.
