La Liga Saturday: Celta Vigo and Zaragoza both get big wins

The race to avoid relegation intensified on Saturday as Celta Vigo and Real Zaragoza both got wins that clogged up bottom of the table even more. Barcelona drew with Athletic Bilbao and Madrid continued their dominance over rivals Atletico Madrid.

Celta Vigo moved out of the drop zone with victory over Levante while Real Zaragoza's goal twi minutes from full time gave them their first win of 2013 move them out of the league cellar. Here's a recap of Saturday's action in Spain.

Levante 0-1 Celta Vigo

Boosted by the return of leading scorer Iago Aspas from a four match ban, Celta Vigo won their second straight match thanks to 20th minute header from Augusto Fernández.

Fernández got up over his marker in the Levante area, heading a cross from Michael Krohn-Dehli past Keylor Navas. Levante had a chance to equalize in the 55th minute after Jonny Castro pushed Robert Acquafresca in the box, handing Levante a penalty chance. Jose Barkero sent Javi Varas the wrong direction but his shot went wide of the post and Celta held on for the victory.

Celta move out of the relegation zone for now but they will need some help from Espanyol and Real Betis to stay there.

Athletic Bilbao 2-2 Barcelona

Atletico Madrid 1-2 Real Madrid

Real Zaragoza 3-2 Mallorca

Zaragoza wont their first match in 2013 and pulled themselves all the way up to 18th with a dramatic win over fellow relegation threatened Mallorca.

Tomer Hemed's 11th goal got Mallorca off to a fast start but Zaragoza battled back over the next 50 minutes with goals from Paco Montanes and Helder Postiga. It looked like Mallorca had salvaged a point in the 82nd minute when Javier Arizmendi scored but Zaragoza had an answer again. Ruben Rochina fought off a defender and made a run into the box before beating Dudu Aouate with a low shot.
