AC Milan vs. Catania, Preview: Rossoneri continue push for Champions League

Max Allegri's side have only picked up a couple of points from their last three games -- albeit three games against Juventus, Napoli and Fiorentina. They'll look to get back to winning ways on Sunday evening against an equally off-colour Catania, whose four game winless run has seen them drop out of European contention entirely.

At the start of the round AC Milan sit only a point above Fiorentina in the final Champions League spot. With the viola set for a winnable game against Sampdoria on Sunday afternoon, Milan need to ensure they get a result against a Catania side who've dropped down in ninth, five points adrift of the Europa League places.

It has been a disappointing decline for Rolando Maran's elefanti, who've now only won once in their last seven and seem to have lost their magic touch. Still, they should've won the Sicilian Derby against Palermo in the last round, with only a 95th minute equaliser from the rosanero's Josip Iličić denying Catania all three points.

Unfortunately the frustration of the occasion got to goalkeeper Mariano Andújar and defender Giuseppe Bellusci, who both have three match bans. After collecting too many yellow cards, defender Nicolás Spolli is also sidelined, while Pablo Álvarez and Fabio Sciacca are both out injured.

Milan have Super Mario Balotelli back from suspension, though they're without goalkeeper Christian Abbiati, as well as midfielders Massimo Ambrosini and Nigel De Jong through suspension. Defender Cristián Zapata has a one match suspension.
