A penalty by Arturo Vidal was sufficient for Juventus to claim all three points against Palermo, clinching the scudetto with three matches to play. In Genoa, the hosts won 4-1, pushing Pescara over the edge.
Paul Pogba’s season is over

Tullio M. PugliaWith Juventus leading the relegation-threatened Sicilians 1-0 late in the game, Aronica shoved Pogba in the face. Pogba, not content to merely let the referee take appropriate action, reacted by spitting and was ejected from the game.

Maurizio LaganaSiena’s Serie A future is looking pretty bleak. Last season, they somehow managed to survive despite a points deduction, but their six-point docking this time around leaves them struggling against the drop. Even with the additional six points, however, the robur would still have concerns, because what this comes down to is the fact that Siena just aren’t very good.

Gabriele MaltintiPescara knew coming into the game that survival looked unlikely, as they trailed by ten points with only a possible 12 to play for.
Sculli gave the visiting fans something to cheer when he rose highest to head into the net. The striker refused to celebrate as a mark of respect for his former fans.

Claudio VillaVidal penalty downs Palermo, seals Scudetto

Claudio VillaIt was a completely unspectacular first half, looking like if Juventus were going to seal the Scudetto, they’d do it in a fairly unspectacular fashion. Unable to break down the Palermo defence, they were completely restricted to efforts from distance.
Vučinić could’ve put the game beyond doubt after he volleyed a stunning Paul Pogba pass goalwards from close-range, though his shot was right at Sorrentino. The ex-Chievo goalkeeper was called into action again on a Vidal shot soon after, with Palermo now facing a black and white barrage.

Claudio VillaDepending on your version of history, today’s scudetto is either their 29 or 31 titles, as the FIGC stripped the Old Lady of two titles in the aftermath of the calciopoli scandal. Either way, Juve will be celebrating with a massive victory parade through the streets of Turin tonight.
With three games left to play, the bianconeri sit on 69 points, with 26 wins, 5 draws and 4 losses. While last season Juventus could boast of their unbeaten record, this year they’re likely to be even prouder, after facing few challenges in the league while advancing to the quarter-finals of the Champions League.

Dino PanatoBoth of these sides play a counter-attacking style but due to their recent run and the fact they were the home team, it was Udinese who pressed forward, with Sampdoria using their five-man midfield to attempt to stifle the Zebrette attack.
After just six minutes of the second half, Udinese re-took the initiative, Danilo pumping the ball forward from the centre circle and Di Natale beating Romero to the ball, flicking a stunning half-volley past the hapless goalkeeper and in off the underside of the bar, a truly brilliant piece of opportunism for his 20th goal of the season.

Gabriele MaltintiDespite the best efforts of Fiorentina to rescue their dreams of the Champions League, in the end -- and I mean, the end -- it was Roma that came away from the Franchi with all three points. The Viola had the majority of the chances and even had a credible penalty shout waved away, but they were made to pay for their wastefulness. It was Pablo Osvaldo doing the punishing, knocking in a header in extra time.
For the majority of the match, Fiorentina were in control. Although a Francesco Totti free kick forced Emiliano Viviano into a great save before five minutes had passed, by the 30th minute, Roma looked to be out of ideas. Juan Cuadrado and Adem Ljajic were dictating the Viola play, manipulating space and getting the ball into dangerous positions.

Paolo BrunoBut Roma have also scored the most goals in the league -- 68 -- and with Fiorentina having scored just three fewer, you have to think this is going to be a fun match. For the neutrals, anyway. If you know fans of either of these sides, you might want to buy them a stiff drink. Or slip them a tranquilizer.

Claudio VillaPalermo travel to Turin for a trophy presentation

Tullio M. PugliaJuve haven’t lost at home in the league since the start of the calendar year. Despite Palermo’s recent resurgence, it’s unlikely that will change. While the bianconeri are expected to be painting the town red (or maybe black and white) on Sunday night, the rosanero should be gearing up for long and frosty journey back to Sicily.
That’s despite the fact that they’ve put together a five-game unbeaten streak under Giuseppe Sannino, collecting three wins in the process. After looking relegation certainties, they’re suddenly outside of the bottom three and in with a good chance of survival.
