Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich played to a 1-1 draw in a "preview" of the Champions League Final. We use quotations around preview due to the fact that BVB only played six normal starters and Bayern played three. While Mario Götze was out injured, BVB rested Sven Bender, Mats Hummels, Lukasz Piszczek, and Marco Reus. Ilkay Gündagon was also subbed out after 13 minutes. Bayern went into the match without Arjen Robben, Bastian Schweinsteiger, Dante, Philipp Lahm, Javi Martinez, Thomas Müller, Mario Mandzukic, and Franck Ribery. In fact, Schweinsteiger and Robben joined club president Uli Hoeneß in Munich for Bayern's basketball playoff game against ALBA Berlin.

While we weren’t treated to a real preview of their Champions League Final encounter, Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich continued building some animosity between the two of them in a 1-1 draw.
It didn't take BVB long to stake their case in the match. Nuri Sahin sent a long ball down the left flank to Jakub Blaszczykowski. His cross went all the way to the far post where Kevin Großkreutz met it with a fantastic volley that left Manuel Neuer no chance to save it.
Twelve minutes later, Mario Gomez made it 1-1. Rafinha was given far too much time on the right side and whipped in a cross. Gomez met it with his head and curved the ball around the outstretched hands of Roman Weidenfeller.
The second half saw little action until the 60th minute when the referee called a handball in the box against Jerome Boateng and awarded a penalty to BVB. Robert Lewandowski stepped up to take the attempt, but Neuer made a fantastic diving save to preserve the 1-1 scoreline.
Things started to get very chippy in the following minutes. Rafinha elbowed Kuba in the face while the two were going for the ball, and the Brazilian was shown his second yellow card and sent off. After rolling on the ground for two minutes like someone shot him in the face in an attempt to get Rafinha sent off, Kuba jumped back up to his feet and got in Rafinha’s face. Then, as Rafinha was leaving the field, Jürgen Klopp and Kuba continued their verbal assault of the defender. Rafinha put his finger to the face of Kuba before heading toward the tunnel to leave the field.
Screaming at one player wasn’t enough for Klopp, however, and he charged after Bayern’s sporting director Matthias Sammer to scream at him. Childish behavior from everyone involved finally livened up some of the dull play on the field.
Bayern remain twenty points --- Seriously, they’re so far ahead of BVB it’s hilarious. --- ahead of Borussia Dortmund in the league table. The two will meet for the fourth time this season on May 25 at Wembley Stadium in the Champions League Final.
