Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY SportsThere will be 30 minutes of extra time played, in two 15-minute periods. If the score is tied after that, the two teams will head to penalties, which are best of five, followed by sudden death if there’s still no winner. Like most competitions, there’s no golden goal and all 30 minutes of extra time will be played.
While the game is at StubHub Center and LA earned the privilege to be the home team by finishing the regular season with a better record than New England, they are not the “home team” for scoring purposes. There is no away goals rule in effect.
