Cardiff City vs. Liverpool: Preview and TV schedule

It’s a relegation struggler against a title contender in Cardiff on Saturday, with a buoyant Liverpool heading to Wales.

Ole Gunnar Solskjær's start to life as Cardiff City manager hasn't gone too well, with the Bluebirds currently just a point off the bottom of the table. The sacking of Malky Mackay looks more baffling with every passing week, and Cardiff are now three points adrift of safety with a few of the teams above them having games in hand. They need wins, and fast.

Sadly, the odds on them picking up three points this weekend are slim. That's because they play host to Brendan Rodgers' Liverpool, who are currently enjoying their best Premier League season in an awful long while. They've strung five consecutive Premier League wins together, with their 3-0 thrashing of north-west rivals Manchester United last weekend ensuring they moved to within four points of league leaders Chelsea.

For this match, Liverpool will still be without Sebastián Coates and José Enrique, though otherwise have a fully fit team available. Cardiff will certainly have Mark Hudson on the sidelines, though there's hope that Ben Turner and Andrew Taylor will shake off knocks to make Solskjær's squad.
