Manchester City vs. Fulham: Final score 5-0, Touré hat trick moves City up to third

Yaya Touré‘s hat trick fueled City to a easy victory over last-placed Fulham.

City weren't particularly spectacular on Saturday but they didn't really need to be against a poor Fulham side. Yaya Touré completed a hat trick and even Martin Demichelis scored in a 5-0 win. City move into third place with games still in hand on the teams in front of them.

City took a deserved lead in the 26th minute when Fernando Amorebieta have Álvaro Negredo a bit of a shove in the back as the striker tried to bring down a long ball in the Fulham box. Amorebieta saw yellow and the home side were given a penalty, which Yaya Touré converted to give City a 1-0 lead.

Amorebieta was at it again in the 53rd minute, tripping David Silva as he ran into the box and drawing a red card, along with a second penalty for City. Touré was again happy to take advantage, beating David Stockdale for the second time and extending the lead to 2-0.

Touré completed the hat trick in fantastic fashion in the 65th minute, unleashing a curling strike from 30-yards out that eluded both defenders and Stockdale on its way to the back of the net.

Fernandhino added a fourth goal in the 84th minute, just for fun, finishing off his chance after James Milner controlled a corner kick and connected with the midfielder.

Maligned defender Martin Demichelis was in the right place at the right time in the 88th minute, tapping-in a ball from short range after a re-directed corner got past Stockdale and rolled right to the foot on the unmarked defender.
