Burnley have confirmed the signing of George Boyd on a three-year deal. The 28-year-old was loaned to Hull City during their push for promotion in 2012-13, and signed permanently for the Tigers last season. Boyd was a regular off the bench during Hull's first season back in the Premier League, but scored just two goals in 29 appearances.
George Boyd signs with Burnley
The 28-year-old moves from Hull City to the Clarets on a three-year deal. Will he be able to help Burnley stay up?

The Clarets are willing to take a chance on the forward, however. That might be because the newly promoted side have scored just one goal thus far, in their opening loss to Chelsea. Burnley have just one point on the season, courtesy of a goalless draw with Manchester United in the third round.
Burnley will be hoping Boyd can dig deep to rediscover the form that helped Peterborough achieve back-to-back promotions, landing them in the Championship at the end of the 2010-11 campaign. That season, Boyd scored 17 goals, although he did have 51 appearances in which to knock them in.
There’s an awfully big difference between success in League One and success in the Premier League. Burnley might be taking a big gamble with the signing of Boyd.
