Danny Welbeck wants permanent deal, not loan

This could be awkward for Arsenal ...

Well this throws an awkward wrench into the plans of about three teams. Manchester United striker/winger Danny Welbeck has been courted all day by the likes of Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur -- he's reportedly having a medical with the former -- but we've been hearing about a loan this whole time. And, wellllllll ...

Welbeck, who's currently training with the England team ahead of European Championship qualifiers was supposed to be moving for a loan fee in the region of £4 million; if he's refusing to agree to anything but a permanent deal everything's about to get very, very confused, and Arsenal are going to have to scramble to get something done. The transfer window's pretty great, isn't it?
