Not content with having already smashed their transfer record to bring Palermo striker Abel Hernández to the KC Stadium, Hull City have landed another impressive signing on deadline day. They have now confirmed the capture of West Ham's Senegalese midfield star Mohamed Diamé, who has signed a three-year contract after the Hammers accepted an undisclosed offer.

— Hull City Official (@HullCity) September 1, 2014 Over the last few seasons Diamé has been one of the best midfielders in the Premier League outside of the massive teams, though the Senegalese international inexplicably fell out of Sam Allardyce's favour. Still, West Ham's loss is Hull's gain, and their prospective midfield trio of Tom Huddlestone, Jake Livermore and Diamé sounds very solid indeed. It could well be enough to see them comfortably avoid relegation for the second consecutive season.
