What we learned from the USMNT’s win

St. Vincent and the Grenadines stunned the Americans with an early goal, but they eventually settled in and coasted to a 6-1 win.
Seattle Sounders 2 star Oalex Anderson netted the opener just five minutes in with an impressive curler. A long ball over the top of the defense beat Geoff Cameron and fell to Anderson, who cut in past DeAndre Yedlin and bent a perfect shot around the hand of Brad Guzan.

The second goal was a bit unlucky for St. Vincent, but it seems like it was the one that demoralized them. The US quickly took control after that, and Altidore’s goal only took a couple of minutes. And after all this, it would be surprising if the USMNT didn’t score a few more.

Brad Guzan starts in goal in an announced move -- Tim Howard will start on Tuesday. DeAndre Yedlin, who has played more on the wing recently, gets the nod at right back. Fabian Johnson moves to left midfield, the position he plays for Borussia Mönchengladbach. Gyasi Zardes plays opposite him, while Bobby Wood partners Jozy Altidore up top.

Miazga is Polish-American, and played one match for Poland’s Under-18 team in 2012. Because the upcoming USMNT matches are World Cup qualifiers, Miazga would be cap-tied to the United States if he appears, and no longer eligible to represent Poland.
