Andy Murray requested a wild card entry into the Swiss Indoors and withdrew before his first match of the tournament with an injury. A strained right buttock, to be exact.
Andy Murray Withdraws From Swiss Indoors

Murray, who has had a solid fall season compiling three titles in last month, said he woke on Tuesday at 3 a.m. with the pain.
“I was struggling to walk,” said Murray, according to The Telegraph. “I had trained twice on Monday and felt fine after that. It was a bit better later on Tuesday morning and I went to a pool for some exercises and had a light hit. But this morning I knew it was still not good enough.”
The Scot is on a career-best 15-game win streak, but the world’s third-ranked player withdrew Wednesday from his match with Dutchman Robin Haase. It would have been his first time appearing at the tournament since 2005.
“I don’t know how I did it or what it came from. I’ve never had anything like this before.”
Marco Chiudinell, who was born in Basel, the tournament’s site, was given Murray’s wild card.
