French Open 2011 results from Day 6 at Roland Garros, where qualifiers are wrecking shop against seeded players.
French Open 2011 Results: Samantha Stosur, Mikhail Youzhny Upset; Bethanie Mattek-Sands Crashes Out
• Gisela Dulko def. No. 8 Samantha Stosur, 6-4 1-6 6-3.
A trendy wildcard pick for an upset run to the finals, Stosur would’ve been a favorite in her quarter with the loss of Caroline Wozniacki. This marks the second trip to the fourth round for the 51st-ranked Dulko, where the Argentinian draws a formidable opponent in No. 11 Marion Bartoli.
• No. 10 Jelena Jankovic def. Bethanie Mattek-Sands, 6-2 6-2.
An abrupt end to a deep run for the American, but at least she looked metal doing it. Next up for Jankovic: No. 5 Francesca Schiavone in Round 4.
• Albert Montanes def. No. 12 Mikhail Youzhny, 6-7 7-6(0) 6-1.
This marks the deepest Roland Garros run of Montanes’ career. The 38th-ranked Spaniard will face the fantastically-named Rabio Fognini for a quarterfinals berth.
