No. 21 Andy Roddick and No. 5 David Ferrer had only played four games. No. 2 Rafael Nadal was already up three games to nothing. There was a start to a battle at 2-1 between No. 4 Andy Murray and Donald Young.
U.S. Open Weather Cancels Night Session As Well
And then, the rain came - cancelling play for the U.S. Open Night Session. The rain had already cancelled the day session of the 2011 U.S. Open. Now, weather permitting, the Grand Slam will resume play at 11 a.m. on Thursday in Flushing Meadows.

Cancellation of Play for Wednesday, September 7, Night Session
While it is only misting currently at the USTA Billie Jean King National Tennis Center, the forecast indicates worsening conditions with no projected breaks in the rain through the remainder of the evening.
Due to this forecast, the USTA is canceling the Wednesday, September 7, Night Session (session #20). Play will resume tomorrow, Thursday, September 8, at 11 a.m., weather permitting.
