Tennis superstar Rafael Nadal will be sidelined for at least two months with a torn patella tendon in his left knee, according to Howard Fendrich.
Rafael Nadal Injury: Spaniard Has Torn Tendon, Out 2 More Months
Nadal did not participate in the 2012 Olympics in London because of the knee injury, which he believed just to be tendinitis at the time. The knee injury prevented Nadal from participating in the 2012 U.S. Open as well, and he will be sidelined an additional two months because of it.
Nadal failed to advance past the second round of Wimbledon this year, marking the first time he failed to advance past the second round of a Grand Slam tournament since 2005.
Even with the injury, Nadal still enjoyed a successful 2012 campaign, advancing to the finals of the Australian Open, and winning his seventh French Open title.
