Roger Federer’s quest for an eighth title at Wimbledon continues unhindered. On Saturday, he made it past the 27th-seeded Mischa Zverev without much issue, and punched his ticket into the fourth round.
Wimbledon results 2017: Roger Federer through to 4th round
Roger Federer’s bid for yet another title at Wimbledon is going well.

Federer, 35, has won a record 18 Grand Slam titles, and many believe he’ll get his 19th at Wimbledon. He is slowing down and has been hampered by injuries late in his career, but he skipped the clay court season (allowing Rafael Nadal a 10th title at Roland Garros) to keep himself fresh for Wimbledon.
It appears to be working. He downed Zverev in straight sets, 7-6(3), 6-4, 6-4.
Angelique Kerber continued her strong play on the grass courts, but needed three sets to get past unseeded American Shelby Rogers. Kerber was eliminated in the first round of the French Open, but made it to the fourth round at Wimbledon with her 4-6, 7-6(2), 6-4 win.
Novak Djokovic, the defending champion, made short work of the unseeded Ernests Gulbis on Saturday, winning in straight sets, 6-4, 6-1, 7-6(2). Djokovic struggled prior to Wimbledon and has talked about taking a break from the sport, but he’s looked in fine form on these grass courts thus far.
No. 9 Agnieszka Radwanska has been pushed to three sets multiple times, and was again against No. 19 Timea Bacsinszky. But Radwanska held on, as usual, and won, 3-6, 6-4, 6-1. She’ll need to work on getting out to a better start going forward, as she can’t maintain these three-setters for the whole tournament.
Caroline Wozniacki, the fifth seed, bested Anett Kontaveit, 3-6, 7-6(3), 6-2. The other top 10-seeded woman, No. 7 Svetlana Kuznetsova, took down Polona Hercog, 6-4, 6-0.
On the men’s side, No. 12 Jo-Wilfried Tsonga found himself eliminated when American and 24th seed Sam Querrey bested him in five sets from a match that was continued from Friday. Milos Raonic, the sixth seed, made short work of No. 25 Antonio Ramos-Vinolas, 7-6(3), 6-4, 7-5.
Up next is a rest day, the middle Sunday, before the tournament resumes with the fourth round on Monday.
