Prior to the start of the French Open, the rhetoric was that the women’s singles field was wide open due to the absence of Serena Williams and the lack of strong play from the top-seeded Angelique Kerber. In Wimbledon, the story was much the same.

And that story did pan out on the clay of Roland Garros, as an unseeded Jelena Ostapenko managed to secure the title on the women’s side. Going into Wimbledon, the field still didn’t have Serena Williams, Kerber was still struggling, and things were getting interesting.

In the end, Garbine Muguruza and Venus Williams faced off for the title and they played a very competitive first set before Muguruza took control and dominated en route to a straight-set win.

Below is the bracket, television information for the United States, and a full schedule, with full results from the entire women’s bracket.
