Todd Archer of the Dallas Morning News gives us this update on Marion Barber’s status:
Barber Limited in Wednesday Practice, Phillips ‘Optimistic’ Barber Will Play Week 4
As expected, Marion Barber was limited in Wednesday’s practice but he did more than he did a week ago, according to Wade Phillips. Felix Jones did not practice with his sprained posterior cruciate ligament in his left knee.
Phillips said he was “optimistic” Barber could play against Denver, but he acknowledged the situation at running back is “tenuous.” There is a chance the team could call up Chauncey Washington from the practice squad to be used in an emergency offensively and on special teams.
Unsurprisingly, Felix Jones was held out of practice due to his PCL strain, which will likely sideline him for 1-2 weeks.
We’ll keep you updated on Barber’s progress today, which should give us a better indication of whether he’ll suit up this week when the Cowboys visit the Broncos.
