Jerry Jones graced the Cowboys with his presence today at practice, and had a few injury nuggets to share with the press. From the Dallas Morning News:
Jerry Jones Expects Barber to Play This Week
[Jones] expects starting running back Marion Barber to play Sunday against Denver. Jones said Barber will do more in practice today than he did yesterday.
“He did more [Wednesday] than we thought and will have expectations,” Jones said of Barber playing against Denver on Sunday. “I would like to reserve that [decision] to after practice, but I bet he’s pretty aggressive out here in practice, listening to how he responded [Wednesday] and listening to these trainers, he should be able to go. […] ones said if Barber looks “strong,” he would start Sunday. That will have to be determined in later practices this week.
Jones also addressed some of the team’s other injury/roster news:
Jones said backup RB Felix Jones is sore and “more than likely” won’t play against Denver. He didn’t practice again today.
Jones said the Cowboys could activate Chauncey Washington for the Denver game Sunday. […]
Jones also said that he expects left tackle Flozell Adams to play against Denver, even though he is not practicing today. He came out to practice in shorts and a T-shirt.
“We’re holding [Adams] out for precaution,” Jones said.
Presumably the Cowboys are worried Adams will trip one of their defensive lineman in practice and injure him. But on a more serious note, we’ll keep you updated on any developments with Barber’s status leading up to kickoff.
