Our own Washington Nationals blog, Federal Baseball, sat in on Jim Riggleman’s conference call Friday. Riggleman, who was named full-time manager of the Nationals on Wednesday, is “confident” that he will be able to do the job. It also sounds as though the coaching staff could be shaken up.
Federal Baseball: Riggleman Expresses Confidence, Speculates On Strasburg In DC
As far as putting together his coaching staff, Mr. Riggleman said, “We are in the process of doing that, we don’t have anything to announce right now,” but, Mr. Riggleman continued, “…there will be a couple of changes on the staff…if we were doing this call two days from now I’d probably have a final list for you.”
Riggleman also answers speculation on whether pitching superprospect/demigod Stephen Strasburg will be called up to the big leagues at any point in 2010. For this and more, check out Federal Baseball’s report.
