Air Canada Sues Obama Administration

Air Canada has sued the Obama Administration over the ban on Canadian charter carriers flying between American cities, The Financial Post reports.

Court documents seem to show that the suit is solely on the basis of obstruction to sports franchises:

“It is wreaking havoc on the hockey season, may damage the National Basketball Association season, and exposes Air Canada to claims from its customers,” the airline said in court documents filed Wednesday. “Air Canada seeks a declaration vacating this directive and requests relief in time to salvage at least part of the upcoming sports season.“As the Obama Administration has much bigger things on its plate these days, expect there to be an exemption to the rule for sports franchises in the very near future...
