It’s cut day across the NFL, and as team’s all around the league trim their rosters to the alotted 53-man unit, we’ll have coverage on who made the team, what stars find themselves looking for a new team, and which Rudy-like characters (read: Mason, Marcus) made the team? Days like this, I wish HBO and NFL Films could do Hard Knocks for every team.
NFL Cut Day: Did [Insert Feel Good Story Here] Make The Team?
Instead, we have to settle for Mike Florio. Pro Football Talk has a number of reports:
Ronald Curry, who’s overcome numerous obstacles over his time in college and the NFL, will have to overcome one more:
Wide receiver Ronald Curry was once one of the greatest high school and college athletes in the country.
But injuries have sapped his explosiveness, and now three NFL teams have given up on him in the same offseason.
After getting traded from Detroit to the Rams in July, the Rams cut Curry on Saturday, according to Fox’s Alex Marvez.
Dominic Rhodes figures to be one of the bigger names on the free agent market after being cut. But since he couldn’t make a Bills team that’ll be without their starting running back for the first two weeks of the season, you have to wonder if he’s got anything left.
From FoxSports.com:
The Bills dispatched Rhodes even with featured running back Marshawn Lynch suspended for the first three games of the season.
As alluded to earlier in the commentary section, the Giants have decided to part ways with 6th-year receiver and their Super Bowl-hero, David Tyree.
Also, the Washington Redskins announced that they will place QB Colt Brennan on the injured reserve list this season with a “hamstring injury.” So, yeah: he didn’t make the team, but they’ll retain his rights.
Check back later today as more news emerges.
