Well, given the earlier update, this news is a tad bit confusing. Okalhoma’s Bradford has been told that he’s got a Grade 3 Sprain, which ESPN’s Joe Schad suggested would lead to season-ending surgery. Instead, it appears Bradford--now that he’s a officially got a Grade 3 sprain--could be back sooner than anyone expected.
We Have a Timetable! Bradford Out 2-4 Weeks
To be fair, Schad’s not a doctor, and Bradford, who’s part Native American, probably has healing powers that we don’t know about.
The Associated Press reports:
Heisman Trophy winner Sam Bradford is not expected to need surgery on his sprained right shoulder and the quarterback could play again for No. 3 Oklahoma in two to four weeks.“Everyone’s different in how they heal, the soreness, how they handle it and how quickly it dissipates where he can move and be comfortable again throwing the ball,” Stoops said after the Sooners’ practice Monday. “Anywhere from two to four weeks is what we’re anticipating.”
Bradford said he spoke Sunday with New York Giants quarterback Eli Manning, who had a bruised AC joint during his team’s run to the Super Bowl two years ago. Bradford has been told he has a Grade 3 sprain. He already started rehabbing Sunday, trying to improve the range of motion in his shoulder.
This means that, if all goes according to plan, Bradford will probably be in uniform for Oklahoma’s big non-conference matchup with Miami, and will definitely (probably) be in uniform for the mega-matchup with Big 12 South rivals, Texas.
