In a lightweight attraction Sam Stout wore down Joe Lauzon over three rounds to win a unanimous decision. Lauzon was a reasonably heavy favorite coming into the fight but Stout was a live dog with his solid striking game.In the first round Lauzon was able to get the fight to the ground and quickly looked to finish the fight with a deep kimura armlock. Stout was able to survive the submission attempt and although he was bleeding from a cut on the forehead he took over the fight at that point.

Working striking combinations that featured high to low attacks and solid takedown defense Stout wore down the durable Lauzon. In the third round Lauzon was able to get the fight to the ground one last time and get to mount. Rather than try and strike for a finish Joe risked going for a choke which Stout escaped and once again was able to start working his striking until the final bell.
