UFC 108 Results: Rashad Evans Outlasts Thiago Silva

It wasn’t pretty, but in the

UFC

108 main event Rashad Evans was able to win a unanimous decision over Thiago Silva. The first two rounds fell into a lather, rinse, repeat style pattern with Evans charging forward into a clinch and getting a double leg takedown. From there Silva was always able to stand up without taking damage only to get taken down again. It was clear that Evans won the first two rounds with nothing more than the takedowns.

Heading into the final round it was clear that both fighters were running low on gas. Knowing he needed to finish the fight Thiago began dropping his hands and taunting Rashad to get him to engage. As soon as Rashad took the bait Silva blasted him with punches. A hurt Evans began backpedaling as Silva stalked him in an attempt to finish the fight. Unfortunately for the Brazilian he did not have the stamina to finish and Rashad was able to survive to the final bell and get the decision win.

After the fight Rashad made it clear that he wants to make the fight with Quinton “Rampage” Jackson happen.
