It wouldn’t be an SEC game featuring an LSU team coached by Les Miles without a possibly heart-stopping fourth quarter.
No. 5 LSU Vs. Mississippi: Rebels, Tigers Locked In Tight One In Death Valley
And that’s exactly what today’s LSU-Mississippi game looks like it will be.
The Rebels have hit big plays all day, and been helped by LSU miscues in the second half. A touchdown run for Michael Ford shrank to a longish run on replay early in the third quarter, and a Jordan Jefferson interception ended that drive. Later, an Ole Miss fumble that gave LSU the ball in the red zone only resulted in three points for the Tigers.
And late in the third quarter, Ole Miss capitalized on a foul for a helmet-to-helmet hit and scored to go ahead 24-23, then got the ball back on the next kickoff, as LSU freshman Luke Muncie scooped up a squib kick, was hit hard, and lost the ball.
Muncie stayed down for a few minutes, then was helped off the field. We’ll update his condition and the score of this game in this StoryStream.
