A small bit of good news for the Broncos and their fans, but even more so Ryan Clady: the left tackle suffered only a partially torn patellar tendon, which explains why he is only expected to miss three months, as compared to the entire season, which was originally feared.
Broncos’ Ryan Clady Patellar Tendon Only Partially Torn, WIll Miss Three Months
Because the tendon was only 50 percent torn, Clady is expected to be out for three months and will be able to play again in four months, meaning he will likely miss the entire preseason. The team is hopeful Clady will be ready in the regular season opener in Jacksonville on Sept. 12.
Clady underwent surgery for the injury on Tuesday.
Looks like the Broncos dodged a major bullet here, considering Clady protects Orton’s blindside (and Tim Tebow’s sightside).
