Even before he was sent sprawling to the floor with a fractured face, Raptors fans have been preparing themselves for the possibility that they’ll be watching Toronto play sans-Chris Bosh on a regular basis very soon. That assumption became a little bit more of a reality after the injury. Has Bosh played his final game in a Raptor uniform? Raptors HQ doesn’t want to jump to any conclusions, but they think so.

After taking an Antawn Jamison elbow to the face early in the first quarter Tuesday night, Toronto’s Chris Bosh had surgery to repair a facial fracture on Wednesday.
The Raptors are three games behind Charlotte for the 7th seed and the Raptors only have four games left to try and move up.

Doesn’t a “facial fracture” sound like just the worst thing ever? Don’t worry, it’s not that bad.
And even with this video, it’s difficult to see exactly how Chris Bosh was injured. There was certainly some contact, but without the spotlight in the video--or Bosh crumbling in a heap at the end--it’s no different than any other NBA rebound with limbs flailing in close proximity. Unfortunately for Bosh, one of those limbs hit his face just right:

Chris Bosh, who took an Antawn Jamison elbow to the face early in the first quarter Tuesday night, left the game and headed to the Cleveland Clinic for a CT scan. From the reports tweeted by SLAM Online’s Holly MacKenzie (via the Raptors PR staff), the elbow did some damage.
UPDATE: From Will Carroll, the Internet’s Injury Expert, this is what that all means: “Badly broken nose. No blowout or orbital fx, so could have been worse.”

Bosh was transported to the Cleveland Clinic for further evaluation. Initial interpretation of a CT scan showed a maxilla and nasal fracture to the right side of his face. Bosh will remain in Cleveland overnight for further evaluation and consultation.
Because of Toronto’s loss, Miami clinched a playoff spot.
