Raptors Lose, Chris Bosh Taken To Hospital After Taking Elbow To Face

Cleveland, OH (Sports Network) - LeBron James had 19 points and dished out 13 assists as the Cavaliers topped Toronto, 113-101, on a night Raptors All- Star forward Chris Bosh suffered a fracture to his face.

Bosh was struck by the elbow of Antawn Jamison and left the game bleeding from his nose and mouth. The injury occurred just 2:08 into the game.

Bosh was transported to the Cleveland Clinic for further evaluation. Initial interpretation of a CT scan showed a maxilla and nasal fracture to the right side of his face. Bosh will remain in Cleveland overnight for further evaluation and consultation.

Jamison scored 20, while Anthony Parker chipped in a season-high 18 points, to go with eight rebounds and six assists for the Cavaliers, who bounced back from a 117-113 loss Sunday in Boston. Mo Williams tallied 14 points and 12 assists for the Cavs, who won for the fourth time in five games overall.

Jarrett Jack had 23 points to lead Toronto, which has lost two straight. Despite the defeat, the Raptors remained a game ahead of Chicago for the final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference as the Bulls lost at home to Milwaukee Tuesday night.

Because of Toronto’s loss, Miami clinched a playoff spot.

Antoine Wright converted a three-point play to bring the Raptors within 64-62 with 9:26 left in the third quarter, but the Cavs netted the ensuing eight points, capped by a layup from J.J. Hickson.

Cleveland widened the margin to as high as 15 later in the quarter before carrying a 90-79 cushion into the fourth.

Jack made two foul shots for a 98-91 difference with 7:07 left, but the Cavs scored the ensuing nine points to put the game out of reach. Jawad Williams ended the spurt with a three-pointer inside five minutes remaining.

The Cavs held a 35-26 edge after one quarter, but Toronto closed within 55-53 at the half.

Cavaliers guard Delonte West sat out due to lower back spasms...Wright left the game with 4:38 remaining in the third quarter due to a right ankle injury...Cleveland has won eight of the last nine meetings...Toronto is winless in its last 11 trips to Cleveland.
