Dale Tallon continues to revamp the Florida Panthers. He's traded Nathan Horton, the Panthers first round, third overall draft pick in 2003, to the Boston Bruins, according to Darren Dreger of TSN.
Horton Hears A Bru: Nathan Horton, Gregory Campbell Traded To Boston For Dennis Wideman, 15th Pick
Bruins have acquired Nathan Horton from Florida. Details to follow.
Gregory Campbell also heads up to Boston with Horton. The Florida Panthers get defenseman Dennis Wideman and the 15th overall pick in Friday's draft in return.
Horton’s 20 goals last season were a career low for him, ignoring the 2003-04 season where he only played 55 NHL games. He’s probably been forgotten while playing in Florida, but he has a lot of raw talent and a ton of scoring touch, especially for a big body. Horton weighs in at 6’2”, 229 pounds.
Florida now holds the 3rd pick, the 15th pick, the 33rd, 36th and 50th picks in this weekend’s draft.
