After turning a 2-2 tie game into a 4-2 lead in the third, the Seminoles got themselves a bit of a cushion in the fifth. With the bases loaded and one out, Stephen Cardullo lifted one to right field for a simple sacrifice fly, then Jayce Boyd came to the plate and got into an advantageous count, 3-1. With the count in his favor, Boyd picked out the pitch he wanted it and smacked it into the left center gap for a two RBI double, stretching their lead to 7-2.
Jerome Pena got a hold of a pitch in the seventh for TCU for a solo home run, cutting the lead to 7-3, but with just six outs left at their disposal, the Horned Frogs still have four runs to find.
