Giants Vs. Colts: Eli Manning Can’t Go Home Run For Home Run With Peyton
On the Giants first play on offense after Peyton Manning hit Dallas Clark for a 50-yard touchdown pass to extend the Colts advantage to 14-0 midway through the second quarter, Eli Manning forced a pass deep into double coverage trying to hit Steve Smith, except the ball caromed off Smith into the hands of Jerraud Powers.
With about five and a half minutes left to go in the first half and the Colts driving deep again in Giants territory, New York has only 26 total yards on offense and Eli Manning has only completed one of six passes for a grand total of one yard.
