We're a little over a week from the first round of the 2011 NFL draft and the New England Patriots continue to look at first round prospects. The latest names to come out are QB Ryan Mallett, RB Mark Ingram and TE Kyle Rudolph.
2011 NFL Draft: Patriots Hosting QB Ryan Mallett, RB Mark Ingram, TE Kyle Rudolph
Each player is an interesting fit with the Patriots.
Mallett could be a first or second round pick and the Patriots aren’t believed to be interested in quarterback that early, although no one really knows. Mallett is a polarizing figure because he has reportedly admitted to GMs his drug use in the past, and has rumors of drug use attached to him.
Ingram is the former Heisman winner coming from Alabama. He's coached by Nick Saban who used to work with Belichick and they're still reportedly friends to this day. The Patriots have a 1,000 yard rusher in BenJarvus Green-Ellis but it's possible they're looking for help.
Rudolph is a surprise here. Ian Rapoport says the Patriots won’t be drafting a top tight end, especially after drafting a pair of solid ones last year. Why would they bring him in for a visit?
